COVID-19 – Customer Service Update

As the government slowly begins to ease lockdown restrictions, we wanted to reassure you that Bywaters continues to provide service, clearance and PPE disposal support to assist businesses getting back to normal.

Reinstate your services

As business across the UK begin to return to work Bywaters are on hand to assist – we understand that waste requirements will increase as occupancy does. As such our Customer Services and Account Management teams we will be available to amend service frequencies inline with ongoing requirements. Please get in touch if you would like to reinstate any services or require any assistance.

Excess waste clearances

Guaranteeing a smooth and reliable service transition for our clients is important to us; we have maintained our fleet operations, as well as additional caged vehicle services in anticipation of any clearance requirements, should you have encountered a build-up of waste. Our Helpdesk team, as well as dedicated Account Management support remain on hand should you require assistance in phasing in your services once more.

PPE waste disposal

We understand there may be apprehension for many staff returning to work in uncertain conditions, and many clients are mandating the use PPE to support safety of staff and clients alike. This new material stream has caused some concern with regards to waste management. In response to this, Bywaters have launched a PPE disposal service to ensure that safe waste segregation practices are maintained onsite, with immediate disposal capability.

Our new PPE disposal guidance recommends the onsite segregation of PPE, which will be contained in separate waste receptacles onsite. The segregated materials will be bagged in orange bags (provided by Bywaters), and secured using the swan neck procedure used for hazardous materials. PPE shall be collected by Bywaters’ authorised suppliers and taken to an autoclave facility where materials are shredded, disinfected (rendering the waste safe from contamination), and then disposed.
